Joining forces in the fight against tuberculosis is an important step towards achieving global health and sustainable development goals.
On July 16-18, national consultations were held in Lviv within the framework of the WHO initiative and with the support of USAID “Regional Platform to End TB in Eastern Europe”. Within the framework of the consultations, our institution was visited by Andrei Dadu, WHO expert, Tariel Chorgoliani, WHO Prevention and Screening Specialist, Hani Alashavi, WHO Systematic Screening Specialist, Georgiy Dymov, representative of the WHO Office in Ukraine; Yana Terleyeva, Head of the Department of Tuberculosis Control and Prevention of the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and Olesya Medvedeva, a phthisiologist of the Department of Tuberculosis Control and Prevention.
During the meeting with Director General Liubomyr Rak and specialists of the Lung's Health Center, the experts discussed the improvement of prevention and systematic screening for tuberculosis and many other important tasks and challenges. They continued their joint work in the Primary Health Care Center of the Bibrka City Council, where they had a fruitful and informative meeting with the director of the medical institution Vasyl Obaranets and the mayor of Bibrka Roman Hrynus.
We thank our colleagues and partners for their active support in the fight against TB. After all, tuberculosis knows no borders. And joining the efforts of different countries and organizations in a common fight allows us to effectively monitor and improve prevention and treatment strategies, which is crucial for global health.
