The theme of the event: Implementation of measures to improve hand hygiene in healthcare facilities

Location of the training: 150, Nizhne Solotvyno, Zakarpattia region, Derenivska Kupil Sanatorium Complex
The training is part of the project ‘Supporting TB Control Efforts in Ukraine’.
Target audience: Coordinators, instructors, hand hygiene observers and other responsible specialists of healthcare facilities and centers for disease control and prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

Purpose of the event: To master the skills of implementing measures to improve hand hygiene in health care facilities in accordance with the Instruction on the implementation of hand hygiene improvement in health care facilities and institutions / institutions providing social services / social protection of the population, approved by the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated 03.08.2021 №1614 within the framework of the Project “Support to TB Control in Ukraine”.

- Knowledge of the regulatory framework for hand hygiene;
- Ability to work with tools for assessing hand hygiene;
- Skills in developing hand hygiene documentation;
- Knowledge of practical hand hygiene skills.
Description of the event structure:
Event format: offline.
Duration of the event: three training days.
The structure of the event:
- The theoretical part is presented in the form of reports/presentations by trainers, videos, and visual demonstrations of skills;
- The practical part will include: group work with case studies, writing hand hygiene documentation, assessing the quality of hand hygiene using a UV simulator, conducting a thematic online game on infection control, and training using modern technologies (VR/AR).
The total amount of study load: 18 hours
Forms of organising and holding the event: Implementation of the planned programme, use of active learning methods, involvement of participants in discussions and practical exercises, evaluation of the results achieved (testing, surveys).
Methods of organising and conducting the event: Lectures and presentations, discussions and debates, practical exercises, demonstrations and examples.
Logistical support for the educational event:
Multimedia equipment and flip charts are used to demonstrate presentations.
For the practical part: flip charts, audio and video equipment, sets of thematic games, a UV simulator for assessing the quality of hand hygiene, and VR/AR equipment.
Forms of final control:
Solving 20 test tasks that cover the entire scope of the event material with one correct answer. To successfully pass the control assessment and receive the appropriate certificate, the trainee physician must correctly answer at least 70% of the test tasks.
